I would like to get unemployment payment protection insurance I presume that we could both apply for cover separately making two payments and both of us would be covered?

Q: I would like to get Unemployment payment protection insurance I presume that we could both apply for cover separately making two payments and both of us would be covered?

Also if we applied for  redundancy cover basically to cover the mortgage would it come into effect immediately or do you have to wait for a few weeks?

A: If you were to both apply for mortgage payment protection insurance you would both be covered separately and pay two separate premiums. There will be an initial exclusion period on the unemployment part of the policy. If you were to lose your job or be made aware of losing your job within this time period then you would not be able to claim on the policy.

My partner and I are looking to sort out our unemployment insurance with British Insurance

Q: My partner and I are looking to sort out our unemployment insurance with British Insurance.  Can you confirm if we are able to protect half of the mortgage payment each?  On the application form it asked for the total mortgage payment but didn’t let me specify the 50% amount.  Our payment is £880 and we intend to protect £440 each.  Is this possible?

A: You should apply separately for the unemployment protection insurance  to cover a portion of the mortgage each, you do not have to cover the full amount each.

We’re looking to switch our mortgage payment protection insurance but were wondering if you offer a joint policy?

Q: Dear Sirs,

We’re looking to switch our mortgage payment protection insurance but were wondering if you offer a joint policy?

If not then could we apply twice, once for each of us?

Many thanks in advance,

A: Unfortunately as the mortgage payment protection insurance is age related you cannot have a joint policy you would need to make two separate applications

Who needs cover

Q:  Who needs cover?

A:  Because premiums for age-related unemployment accident and sickness policies are capable of costing a mere fraction of those of standard unemployment accident and sickness policies, even those who stand to be directly affected by some of these exclusions may still decide that this innovative approach provides them with good value.

After all, there aren’t too many people who can claim to have cast-iron job security these days and the chances of incurring health problems are far greater than generally supposed. For example, according to UK statistics provided by reputable and authoritative organisations:

*Someone suffers a heart attack every two minutes

*One in three people will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetimes

*One in three people currently suffers from a bad back

*One in four people will experience some kind of mental health problems during the course of any one year.
Some individuals will be able to fall back on the support of a comfortably-off partner or family member in their hour of need, and a minority of people in good jobs will already enjoy all the health insurance protection they require via the workplace. But, for most people, being unable to work for any length of time will involve trying to get by on State benefits, which is unlikely to be a terribly pleasant experience.

Exactly what you will receive from the State if you are unable to work due to poor health or unemployment will depend on a range of factors, such as your savings levels, whether you have a full-time working partner, the number of dependants you are responsible for and whether you rent your property or own it. But, whatever you get, you can be certain that it will not be sufficient to do more than pay for the very barest of necessities.

A single stroke of misfortune can therefore result in a debt spiral that leads all the way to the bankruptcy courts, but taking out an unemployment accident and sickness policies can greatly reduce the chances of this happening. It is within your power to safeguard your future financial security, and the new age-related premiums are capable of being so inexpensive that many people are likely to conclude that they cannot afford to be without them.

Employment protection, accident and sickness cover.

Q: Employment protection accident and sickness cover.
Currently with Wessex Group paying £37.17 a month which gives £295 cover for both me and £295 for my husband. Just wondered if you could offer better cover for the same price.

A: Unfortunately the unemployment protection insurance policy that we provide does not offer joint cover you would have to take out individual policies. To be able to provide a quote we would need to know your age.

My partner is considering taking out income payment protection insurance

Q: My partner is considering taking out income payment protection insurance with yourselves to cover rent if off sick or unemployed in the future.

He suffered from a heart condition four years ago and has to take aspirin, blood pressure and heart tablet and cholesterol tablet daily.  He goes for six monthly check ups with his GP.  He has not had a heart problem for four years now, so would this be eligible under the scheme, should he need to claim under the policy in the future?

A: Thank you for your email.

Your partner would be eligible to apply for unemployment accident and sicknes cover. However he could not claim for any pre-existing or chronic conditions or anything related to those.

Can I get a payment protection insurance policy that covers both Mortgage and Credit Cards in one policy

Q: Can I get a payment protection insurance policy that covers both Mortgage and Credit Cards in one policy?

A: Thank you for your email.

Under the terms of the mortgage payment protection insurance policy you can cover your normal monthly mortgage payments but you would need an income protection plan to cover your credit cards

We would like to ask questions about the unemployment insurance

Q: We would like to ask questions about the unemployment insurance.

Does it pay if you take the unemployment insurance after you have already been laid off. And you are drawing unemployment.

A If you have already been made unemployed then you would not be eligible to apply for this insurance.
